Easter

I cannot believe how cold it was for Easter Egg Hunts on Saturday! Last year we were wearing shorts and sandals. This year we had winter gear on! MaCrae has been stuck in the house for so long that I decided it was time for him to get out and enjoy some fresh air. Our neighborhood has a Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids 8 years and younger, which was so much fun. MaCrae loved beating the snow with his eggs. I am not the kind of parent that goes around and picks up all the eggs myself, so Mac didn't get very many eggs, which didn't seem to bother him. For those who know, Mac is a very picky eater, and when it comes to candy there is no exception. We had so much candy after the going to Grandma's for another Easter Egg Hunt, but none of which caught Mac's eye. So after he went to bed Saturday night I went to Broulim's and got a few bags of candy I knew he would like. Ryan didn't come to church with us Sunday because he was sick, so I made him put out the eggs, his presents, and new clothes while we were at church. Sacrament went fairly well with no dad there, but Mac did decide to take his pants off in the aisle! I was so embarassed, but everyone else was laughing. Hope everyone else had a great Easter. Of all 3 Easter Egg Hunts MaCrae had I forgot to get any pictures!! So I put a picture of Mac at our neighborhood hunt last year with this post.

Twilight

So you have all been ranting and raving about the book "Twilight." I was a little slow getting on the band wagon, but I just wanted to let you all know that I purchased the book today, so I will probably have my nose in it until next week. If it as good as everyone says I would probably read the whole thing by Sunday, but we easter egg hunts tomorrow and Easter on Sunday, so reading will go a little slow until Monday. So I hope everyone has a great Easter and enjoys all the yummy candy your kids will get!

Anyone looking for a good book?

Saturday afternoon Ryan stayed home with MaCrae so I could go get groceries. Since the only times I have left the house last week were to take Mac to the doctors, this was a big adventure. Anyway, I have not been able to find the Twilight series yet, so when I saw this Mary Higgins Clark book I decided I would read it for now. I love her books! I started this 384 page book Saturday night and finished Sunday evening! Her books are just that good. So for anyone wanting a good book, I recommend this one, or any other Mary Higgins Clark book.

Bad News

MaCrae has pneumonia! Yesterday while cleaning up the basement family room he started having a hard time breathing again. I called the Doc and ended up taking him in immediately. I feel so bad for my poor little boy. He has hardly slept in 3 days, and is now being poked and tested like crazy. He ended up having another antibiotic shot and a shot of steriods to help open up his chest so he could breath. After the shots we were both crying. The nurse came to check on us because I did not want to leave until I could settle down. Lucky for us we caught it early enough he has the chance of getting better at home, if things improve he won't be in the hospital, we just have to keep a close eye on him. Most of the time pnemonia is hard to catch in young children, so we are very lucky. The next bad news: I have to push back any more cleaning, becasue Mac needs a lot of special attention. And for the final bad news: Broulim's had their Mini Cadbury Eggs on sale 3 for $5! So I was in no way going to miss out. Tuesday after my lunch, I told ya the sweets don't come until after lunch, I opened my first bag to enjoy a handful. About an hour after eating them I got extremley sick to my stomach. So like every pregnant woman experiences, once you get sick of something you never want to see it again, so I am done with the Cadbury Eggs! Of course my husband was excited because now he gets to enjoy them all himself. Oh well, there is plenty of other candy that I can eat!!

Spring Cleaning Extravaganza

So, I really wanted to join Chantri, Annalee, and Natalie in their spring cleaning fun, but have been much too tired, not to mention Mac got sick AGAIN!! He was acting fine besides the fact he couldn't sleep, not even at night. Sunday night Ryan had to get him an ice cream cone and watch 101 Dalmations with him at 3 a.m. (while I slept, what a good father!) Monday his hands starting turning blue for no reason, so hoping it wasn't pneumonia (don't know how to spell) I took him to see the Doc. They never told me what was wrong, but gave him a shot of anitbiotics and sent us home. So all he wants to do is be cuddled. So anyway, back to the cleaning. This morning as I wake up to it snowing, I thought, since I have no where to go I will start tearing apart my house. And I did it, I started my spring cleaning. First I went through the bathrooms and threw away so much stuff. I think I had like 3 different styles of toothbrush holders and soap dispensers that I have never thrown out. I save them thinking one day I might want to reuse them. But no, I won't, I will want something new, so I tossed them. I haven't actually scrubbed the bathrooms yet, but getting all the clutter and junk out makes a huge difference. Then I decided to tackle Mac's room. Wow! Now there was a project. He has a bed, a crib, a dresser in the closet, and a dresser outside the closet. So I decided it was time to move the baby furniture out, since it will be moved in a few weeks anyway. I probably should not have done a lot of things myself like moving the dressers and bed, even though I did take out the drawers, but it looks so good now. And the best part is that I don't have to ask Ryan to do it and have him look at me like "why". He is never excited about rearraning or cleaning. So anyway, I got the crib taken apart, moved to Madi's room, and put back together. I am so pleased with my hard work, but extremely tired, so I this is my well earned break. Sorry, I didn't tak pictures, so if you want to see the finished product, I guess you will have to stop by. Oh! And yesterday I cleaned out my own closet! Big chore there too. Since I don't wear 99% of my clothes right now, I have really neglected my poor cloest. But it too looks great now. My goal is to clean at least one or two rooms completely each day until it is all done. Thanks Chantri for the challenge, even through I didn't think I would do it, I am, and it feels so dang good!

My first finished sewing projects! Once my mom started the rag quilt with me and left I kind of lost motivation to finish it. I thougt it would be a nice project to work on after Mac went to bed. But once reality kicked in and Mac was asleep, I was too tired to do anything. So finally this last Sunday while Mac attempted to nap I pulled out the sewing machine and started working in it again. Ryan even played with Mac most of the day so I could work on it. I was so excited when I finished it I rushed out to buy more fabic. I made 2 fleece blankets yesterday morning while Mac watched his new favorite movie Monsters INC. The pictures don't do justice for how cute all the quilts are. I am just so excited that I have a new favorite past time. For all of you out there who like to sew, where are the best places to find fabric? I had a hard time finding fleece that I really liked.

MaCrae has turned into such a good little helper. Now that we are both over our sickness, he has become my little side kick. I thought this picture of him enjoying his popcorn was so cute. I was making cookies and he wanted to have a snack. His language skills are starting to take off. We were getting a little worried becuase he doesn't talk a lot, or atleast talk other than baby language. But he is now trying to say everyone I say, which will come back to bite me in the butt I'm sure. And his new favorite tricks, moving chairs and stools around so that he can get to anything and opening the doors. The fridge door, the garage door, and the door to the back yard. We have resorted to looking all the doors to keep him in.
Grandma Gorton sent Mac a Valentine's monkey, and he became his best friend (for the day at least). So while Ryan and I worked on the bathroom, what a romantic Valentine's day for us, Mac watched a movie and ate an ice cream cone with his new buddy.
This is old news, but I have been very lazy about uploading my pictures from the camera. I have been trying so hard to grow my hair out, and it seems like now that I want it to grow it has stopped. When I had short hair I couldn't get it cut enough! So I decided to try coloring my hair back to it's natural color. Well, lets say, it ended up about 3 shades darker, if not more! I have lived with it for almost 6 weeks, and have decided I really can't take it any longer. So Ryan has requested that I have a professional redo it.
My baby bedding! Ryan thinks I am a dork, but after I ordered the bedding it took FOREVER to get here. So as soon as it arrived I had to open it up and take some pictures. Ryan is still not very excited about painting the room pink, so that project has been put off for some time. But I'm sure once he holds Madi in his arms he would paint our room pink if she asked him to. That is the effect little girls have on their daddy's.
